Dick Campbell has admitted that every player within the club now knows what their future holds although he will not be revealing all until Monday. The gaffer will tell the supporters on Monday as to who will stay and admits that there will be players in action tomorrow who won't be here next season:
"My team on Saturday will not offer too many clues as to who will be with us next season. My aim is to finish this season with three wins on the trot and I will pick the best team to get us that win. It will give us a little lift to take us into the summer and being honest I can't wait to get this one out of the road and start out on the new season immediately. I have spoken to all the players and they know who I want to keep here, but if they do not want to be here, under contract or not, then they will not be. My aim is to have everybody here who wants to play for the club and I think that I have achieved that so far.
I am also looking to make progress in the signing of new players and to that end I hope to be able to announce some new signings in a couple of weeks. Players are not out of contract until the end of May and it is only fair that we let the players play for their current clubs now without the knowledge that they have agreed to come here.
As any manager will tell you, this has been a very difficult week. Having to tell players that they are losing their jobs is very difficult and it is a lot worse with the younger players. We have had to tell some of them that they are not getting new contracts which is not a pleasant task.
Now we face up to playing Hamilton to round off the season, but as I said earlier this is about the closing of one door and the opening of another, and I can't wait to get started on 2005/06."
