A mixture of fringe players drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock in a competitive friendly match down in Ayrshire. The scorer of the Thistle goal was Armand One who scored with a fine header. The team was: Pinkowski, Carter, McKeown, Wilson, Trialist, Panther, A Ross, Milne (Haswell), Trialist (Strachan) (Gemmell), One, Hinds. Killie opened the scoring with a disappointing goal to lose but One equalised before half time with a glancing header.

Speaking after the game, John McLaughlan commented:

"It was a very entertaining game with both team fully committed to trying to win the match. Both sides also had strong sides and we were pleased with the way it went. On another day Leigh Hinds could have scored a hat-trick but he was getting into very good positions and it appears he is just a wee bit short of full match sharpness. Adam Strachan picked up a small injury that forced him to come off although there should be no problem with him being ready for the weekend."
