Thistle were left frustrated yet again last week with the proposal to introduce play-offs for the forthcoming season being voted through by a 21-8 majority at last week's league AGM, but some good news has come about with our new chairman Brown McMaster being elected onto the League Management Committee of the SFL.
Both the MaMaster and Dick Campbell have doubts about the new system, with the latter commenting: "You only have to look at the English play-offs and what happened to Ipswich when they lost to West Ham. They had finished 11 points above West Ham but then lost out in the play-off semi and that must be hard to take."
McMaster admits being disappointed with the outcome of the vote, but he is delighted with the news that he, along with Dumbarton's Donnie MacIntyre, has been elected to represent the Second Division.
This will give the Jags chairman more insight into how the SFL works, and hopefully the chance to make an impact on some of the decisions made by this eight-man management committee which runs the SFL.
