Leigh Hinds struck the winner for Partrick against Ross County in an entertaining match at Victoria Park. Hinds scored the only goal of the game in the 54th minute after Billy Gibson's shot was deflected into his path.
Thistle's pre-match preparation suffered a blow when centre-forward Juan Ramon pulled a calf muscle in the warm-up and was replaced in the starting line-up by Armand One.
County had the better of the first half but failed to penetrate a well- drilled defence, although they were saved at one point by a timely intervention by Mark McCulloch.
The Jags made a couple of changes at the start of the second half with Willie Howie and Emmanual Hunter replacing Kenny Milne and Jean-Yves Anis. The changes did the trick when Thistle broke the deadlock when a deflected shot from Gibson fell nicely for the unmarked Hinds, who placed the ball into the net.
Andy Dowie almost added a second for Thistle when his header crashed off the bar. County also had chances. McCulloch should have done better when he was set up by David Wnters. Then Alexander Burke's close-range effort was deflected for a corner.
